The 7th Art is a comprehensive exploration of production design's evolution throughout theatrical and cinematic history. This illustrated book traces the journey from ancient Greek amphitheaters to modern-day digital innovations, showcasing how stage and screen design have transformed over centuries to enhance storytelling and viewer experience.

My love for film inspired the creation of this book, so I had a fun time researching about set design and what it truly is. I remembered that production design is the 7th art and pushed in that direction. I sketched all illustration work on my iPad with my Apple Pencil in procreate, and then added to those in the Adobe Illustrator app. I used various gradients and opacity layers to nail the colors of the scenes to further create seamless visuals.

Conclusion

This book serves as both a historical document and a celebration of production design's vital contribution to the performing arts, offering readers a unique perspective on how visual elements have shaped our entertainment experiences throughout history.
